Heat Press Method Instructions
1. Secure transfer to the stein using PROSPRAY.
2. Wrap the stein with protective paper. Portions of the stein that come into direct contact with the DYEWRAP will yellow. Take care to smooth any and all wrinkles.
3. Secure the DYEWRAP around the stein. Tighten DYEWRAP to finger tight, then give it two more turns using a common wrench.
4. Place into oven and set dwell time to time listed above.
Application notes: Be careful not to use too much pressure, it can wrinkle your transfer - use a protective cover sheet but do not reuse that sheet, it will have ink on it after one use.
Oven Instructions
Instructions for Using an Oven and Sublimation Shrink Wrap
400° 15 Minutes
1. Preheat oven to 400°
2. Cut out template and tape it tightly to your mug
*Optional- if adding a handle design make sure that it is taped down securely.
3. Cut a slit about 2 inches from the bottom of the shrink wrap and slip the wrap over the mug with the handle out
4. Tape shrink wrap under handle to ensure that it will not separate when tightened with heat
5. Tuck excess Sublimation Shrink Wrap into the mug and evenly tighten the wrap by using the heat gun to apply hot air
6. Place in preheated oven for 15 minutes
7. Use caution to remove Sublimation Shrink Wrap and paper from hot mug immediately
8. Allow mug to cool under a fan or using a Kool Plate®
***Oven time and temps vary. When you begin to see your image sublimate through the Sublimation Shrink Wrap, it is time to remove from the oven.
Place the base of the stein in the oven closest to the heat source.
Be sure to wrap the entire area of the substrate with protective paper, there will be a discoloration of the substrate should the wrap come into contact.
Use a fan to cool ceramic mugs or the A6000 Kool Plate. Do not dunk mugs in water. Remove transfer after mug has cooled.
Remove any paper residue with a soft wet cloth or sponge.
