Heat Press Method Instructions

Note: Flat ribbons (RB03. are imaged for 45-50 seconds
Grommetted ribbons (RB01 and RB02. are imaged for 2 minutes with felt and rubber.

1. Print the transfer.

2. Cover the press platen with protective paper.

3. Place the ribbon face up (glossy side) on the press. Note: for more vibrant colors, you may optionally place a thin white felt piece under the ribbon. For the grommeted ribbons, remove the string and tuck a piece of paper between the ribbon and the card.

4. Lightly mist transfer with DyeTrans Adhesive Spray.

5) Place the transfer face down on the ribbon, smooth wrinkles. For the grommeted ribbons, to better image the area of the grommet itself, use 1/16th thick heat conductive rubber over the whole ribbon and decrease pressure slightly and increase time to 2 minutes.

6. Cover with protective paper.

7. Press with Temp/Time/Pressure settings listed above.

Note: Heat tape is not a desirable adhesive medium, as it may leave lines or discolored places on your ribbon.

OUR INSTRUCTIONS ARE BASED ON USING A DK20S, DK3110 AND/OR A COUNTER TOP CONVECTION OVEN. TIMES AND TEMPERATURES WILL VARY DEPENDING ON WHICH EQUIPMENT YOU USE.
