Is Sawgrass or Epson Better for Sublimation?
As with most head-to-head comparisons when you're evaluating two quality products, you usually end up with a mixed bag of results. In this case the obvious difference is price - both in ink and the printers themselves. The F570 will set you back over $1000 more than the SG1000, but the ink cost savings is quite significant. While the F570 also has an advantage in print width of 24" vs 17", there are very few heat press options above 20" before moving into large format presses - with large price tags.
Both of these sublimation machines will get you on the professional level of production and workflow. Both will allow you to print transfers for most all of the hottest products on the market, with low ink cost, while providing a fantastic ROI. Both have proven themselves in the field.
If you have the additional funds available, go for the Epson F570. If your budget is a little tighter, the Sawgrass SG1000 makes perfect sense. Both will earn their keep in your shop and both will more than pay for themselves when put to good use.
